Ownersite Helping Fleet Managers Reduce Migration Time and Effort
December 09, 2011
Ownersite Technologies, a provider of comprehensive web-based and mobile solutions, claimed that its cloud-based vehicle asset management solution is helping fleet managers realize substantial reduction in migration time and effort when compared with premise-based applications.
Ownersite is a comprehensive web-based vehicle maintenance reminder and expense tracking system for the conscientious consumer and vehicle enthusiast. Building on this functionality, Ownersite for Fleets includes features such as: comprehensive maintenance and expense tracking; customizable preventive service reminders and alerts; vehicle information repository; comprehensive reporting tools; service provider management; driving and ownership resources; mobile optimized access, including a native android app and more.
New Jersey-based Perfect Limo Service acknowledged that, prior to employing the solution from Ownersite, it was using its reservation system to store maintenance records. It exported its data into an Excel spreadsheet, and using Ownersite.com, it was able to import it quickly with no problems. The technology saved it from having to enter four years' and 30 cars' worth of data. Also Ownersite maintains all its data – more than 200 million miles of fleet maintenance records – on secure, cloud-based servers that adhere to the strict PCI (News - Alert)-DSS standards originated by credit card providers to ensure application integrity and data security.
Some of the benefits of Ownersite solution are: work orders; multi-user functionality; user-defined access groups; user-defined preventive maintenance schedules; increased vehicle counts; driver directed reminders; multi-vehicle reports including TCO, cost per mile and fuel cost comparisons and more.
Officials with Perfect Limo Service added that while Ownersite.com adheres to best-practices standards for SaaS (News
- Alert) solution, business owners should realize that not all SaaS solutions are created equal. SMBs should ask tough questions of any prospective vendor including whether or not automated backup and recovery are included with the fee and whether the solution is designed for easy migration, setup and use. SMBs just starting with SaaS—especially those who don't have in-house IT staff—should look for products that offer clear and easy migration, setup and training paths.
