Nimbula, a cloud operating system company, announced that the company has won the Overall Most Innovative Cloud Provider award at the UP 2011 Cloud Computing Conference.
Sponsored by IBM (News
- Alert), Microsoft, PwC, EMC and Amazon Web Services, the conference received 350 nominations for categories such as disruptive and next-generation cloud computing companies and emerging solution providers who are defining cloud technology.
The UP 2011 Awards were judged by professionals such as James Staten, VP and principal analyst at Forrester; Dave Bartoletti, expert analyst at Taneja Group; Jeff Nick, senior VP and CTO at EMC and Clemente Cohen, senior VP at CA (News - Alert) Technologies.
"Winning this award speaks to the innovation and deep technical differentiation Nimbula brings to the market," said Reza Malekzadeh, VP of Marketing at Nimbula, in a statement.
"This year we brought our product to market and experienced accelerated growth. This award underscores our position as the most innovative and robust choice for building private or public cloud infrastructures," Malekzadeh added.
Nimbula Director, Nimbula's flagship product, presents a coherent view of a completely automated compute and storage cloud. Nimbula Director isolates customers from the operational and hardware complexity associated with deploying a private or public cloud, company officials said.
Providing a one-stop virtual data center management solution, Nimbula Director benefits both enterprises and service providers.
Enterprises leverage Nimbula Director to deliver their own private cloud for development and testing of applications, for hosting their next generation applications or for controlled use of public clouds through Nimbula Director's unique federation functionality.
Service providers leverage Nimbula Director to build their own public cloud infrastructure.
Recently, Nimbula and Electric Cloud (News - Alert), a smart development cloud company, decided to work together to provide the cloud computing users with high end computing power with minimum investment.
Nimbula will develop an integrated solution with Electric Cloud to enable the development teams using ElectricCommander to manage and execute application build-test-deploy processes on Nimbula Director cloud resources.
