Autotask, Axcient Partnership to Benefit MSPs
April 26, 2011
Managed service providers (MSPs) looking to enjoy more streamlined business processes and significant cost savings will now be able to reap those benefits as a result of a new strategic partnership formed by Autotask and Axcient.
Today Autotask, the world’s leading provider of cloud-based IT business management software built specifically for valued added resellers (VARs), managed service providers (MSPs) and other technology solution providers, announced that it is getting a little help from Axcient, an award-winning provider of data backup, business continuity and disaster recovery services for MSPs.
MSPs will now be able to open and access Axcient data protection events through service tickets in Autotask and easily monitor backup and recovery success within Autotask’s service management, reporting and billing systems, as part of the new platform.
“Axcient is committed to delivering the definitive backup and disaster recovery service for IT solution providers and we are dedicated to launching key technology integrations with best-in-class partners like Autotask to help achieve that goal,” said Axcient CEO Justin Moore in a statement. “Data backup and recovery are now critical components of the MSP business offering and it is essential for us to integrate with systems that alleviate management concerns and improve the quality and service our MSP partners are able to provide to their SMB customers.”
The benefits of this new integration will be demonstrated tomorrow during a live webinar at 10 a.m. PDT. Presenters include Len DiCostanzo of Autotask Corporation, Chris Sterbenc of Axcient, and a joint customer who has been successfully using and benefiting from the integration.
As part of the alliance, the two companies have automated data visibility between the Axcient platform and the Autotask management and reporting system. The automation and deeper insight this integration provides saves MSPs the time and money associated with managing multiple providers and platforms, according to company officials.
Autotask/Axcient partners can enjoy this integration at no additional charge.
“Autotask simplifies the management of IT services and enables IT solution providers to run their businesses better,” said Mark Cattini, CEO of Autotask. “As the leading cloud-based IT business management platform, we realize the importance of aligning with other IT industry-leading vendors and we are very pleased to partner with Axcient and provide such a valuable integration for our mutual customers.”
In other MSP news, research indicates that enterprises are increasingly turning to managed network service in order to keep operations running smoothly. Chadwick Martin Bailey (CMB) surveyed executives and leaders at large United States companies and determined that enterprises are favoring specialty service providers with high-touch customer service, vertical market experience and managed application offerings tailored to their businesses as opposed to just any service provider offering WAN connections.
