Cloud Archiving Solution Powered by Nirvanix Added to AIS Managed Services Offerings
June 02, 2011
Enterprise cloud archiving will now be available as part of the managed services portfolio from provider American Internet Services (AIS). The company's new e-CloudArchive provides geographically dispersed cloud storage nodes, offering a flexible storage solution that meets global security requirements as well as compliance and business continuity standards. AIS provides data center and connectivity services in the western US.
The e-CloudArchive solution is powered by enterprise-class cloud storage services provider Nirvanix. The AIS offering is based on the Nirvanix Hybrid Cloud Storage solution, which offers software, hardware and services and uses the company's Cloud Storage Network for global data storage and replication.
AIS describes the e-CloudArchive as a "very secure storage locker" for data that is scalable and flexible, and can comply with corporate or legal data retention policies. Data may also be copied transparently to more than one data center for added backup and reliability. Data transmissions are encrypted and all storage systems are contained within secure facilities.
Customers may connect to their stored data through a number of archiving applications, or via a virtualized, dedicated front-end from AIS. The company's gateway servers also offer network sharing for easy transmission of data to the cloud. AIS offers Level 1 and Level 2 help desk support in addition to 24x7x365 email and phone support.
"Many of our clients have expressed the desire for a remote storage service that can cost effectively and efficiently handle their business-critical data archival requirements,” said Tim Caulfield, chief executive officer at AIS. "Nirvanix offers a best-in-class, enterprise-grade storage solution with a proven track record. It's a natural fit for our portfolio of enterprise managed services."
"One of the key reasons we've partnered with AIS is that their data centers have a solid reputation for robust power architecture, security, network high-availability and network redundancy which is ideal for our enterprise-grade cloud storage as a service solution," said Scott Genereux, president and CEO of Nirvanix. "But more importantly, it's the professional services, service delivery and client services teams at AIS that clearly differentiate our joint solution in the market place for cloud archival solutions."
