SunGard Announces New Managed Recovery Program

SunGard has long been one of the leaders in business solutions across the globe. Today the company announced a new and improved Managed Recovery Program. For those not particularly familiar with this highly specialized field, SunGard's new program is geared towards helping take the difficulty out of application recovery in highly complex IT situations.
SunGard is one of the more well known companies when it comes to enterprise and cloud computing type situations, so something like this particular program will be highly anticipated. Because this program will make it that much easier to retrieve lost data and applications, the program will save large companies huge stacks of cash in regards to time spent alone. The Managed Recovery Program will actually take over the search for a lost application from the customer's IT department, allowing them to focus on other tasks.
The SunGard Managed Recovery Program integrates several steps in order to perform the recovery. Planning, scoping, implementing, testing and operating recovery are all part of the process this particular program will run. A senior analyst in this particular market said that SunGard's new program will, “alleviate the pain associated with application recovery and the related challenges of change management and updating recovery plans, by allowing organizations to outsource these critical but oftentimes neglected tasks.”
SunGard's managed recovery program is reported to have several key features that will allow the application recovery to be taken over from an IT professional. Those features include the maintenance of the actual recovery plan and definition of how the recovery will be conducted, recovery management even during the worst disasters and a recovery procedure that includes startup of the operating system and the backup servers.
SunGard is well aware that these kinds of programs can be very hit or miss, simply because application recovery itself is very hit or miss. Still the company believes that this particular program will save their customers a ton of time and money by allowing this particular program to take the helm. Application recovery can take days, if not hours if the loss was serious enough, this program will work in the background while customer staff continue with their normal assignments.
