Cloud Pioneer SOS Becomes a Member of the MSPAlliance
March 15, 2010
SOS Online Backup, a pioneer of cloud storage technology, is now a member of the
MSPAlliance, the International Association of Managed Service Providers.
Established in 2001, SOS Online Backup has operations in North America, Europe and Asia. The company delivers simple, powerful and inexpensive online data backup for over one million consumers, small businesses and enterprises worldwide.
“We are honored to have SOS Online Backup as a member of our association,” said Charles Weaver, MSPAlliance president. “By upholding the Managed Service Provider’s Code of Ethics and high technical standards, SOS will help ensure the integrity of our profession.”
This move is very significant for SOS because the MSPAlliance is not only the oldest Managed Services group but also the only Accrediting and Standards based body for the Managed Services Industry.
This alliance already has more than 9,000 members across the globe and as a result of which it has become very powerful and influential all across the globe. Its members work towards promoting the managed services industry to the business consumer.
Once a company becomes the member of the MSPAlliance, it can achieve Green IT Certifications, Disaster Recovery Certifications, and ultimately achieve MSPAlliance Accredited Provider Status.
SOS Online Backup was in news last month when it named
Michael Bell as the company’s president of the consumer division. In its new role Bell will manage the company’s day-to-day operations including all functions related to marketing and selling the SOS Online storage platform to consumers, wholesale partners, OEM partners as well as to the SMB market.
